Foolproof solutions to fashion mistakes.
Let’s face it, even the most stylish of us make some fashion mistakes from time to time. But it’s never too late to turn your fashion flops and turn them into fashion-forward outfits.
Listed right here are some good solutions to the year’s wardrobe catastrophes:
Oversized tunic top
From the smallest figure to plus-sized ladies, the oversized tunic top trend left a lot to the imagination. “Is she pregnant or just smuggling who knows what underneath all of that extra fabric?”
Huge leg trousers
There are a few blessed women who can pull this trend off with success, normally ladies with legs like supermodels. The rest of us just tend to look shorter, heavier, and shapeless.
Need a fix? Try a better-fitting pair of trousers with a boot cut. Boot cut are a bit wider at the bottom, but tend to give a slimming look to most figures.
They’re fun to wear and can be done so with lots of different types of tops. But their tight design leaves little to the imagination. They can even actually exaggerate cellulite ripples and other flaws, and frequently make one’s behind appear wider than wide.
Need a fix? Try them with shirts that are long enough to hide potential problem areas. Tunics or long cardigans are also a good choice to sport with a legging, both of which cover the derriere.
The plunging necklines have been popular this year, but sometimes this neckline can be cut too low. An accidental slip is all you need to find yourself in trouble of overexposure.
Need a fix? Don’t throw out your tantalising sexy tops – just add a perfectly matching camisole to the mix, and you’re good to go. It’s fun to be sexy, but keep it real – without revealing too much skin.
Seriously, scarves that are twice the size of your body just won’t do, Not cute, not cute at all.
Need a fix? Just ditch them! Wear a wonderful piece of jewellery instead of a scruffy wrinkled scarf. The big scarf fad is slowly phasing out.
Long, flowing maxi dresses
Many women think the long, flowing maxi dress is a perfect solution to the too short and revealing mini dress. Unfortunately, in reality the shape and length of most maxi dresses aren’t flattering and tend more to be hiding one’s positives than concealing one’s negatives.
Need a fix? Opt for an in-between length with a dress that stops somewhere between your knee and your calf. I think you’ll be pleased with how this length will flatter your shape. The empire waist dress is also a good choice.
Ooh la la! The beret has been around for years but is not the most stylish of trends this season.
Need a fix? What you should be doing is looking for an alternative. You can’t go wrong with the beanie hat. If fashion is your main reason for wearing a hat, consider a beanie with a bill. They make a great statement, and look good on most shaped heads.
