Don't be turned off by fetish trend
I think for most of us summer is a distant memory and we are now more than ready to see a return to our woollies and opaque tights. This season promises a real kaleidoscope of trends and I personally can’t wait. If you look in the shops now you’ll start to see the new pieces coming in for the upcoming season. One big trend that seems to be very strong this year is the fetish trend. Girls don’t despair it’s not a scary as it sounds and will be great fun to wear.
FASHION took a turn for the über sexy at the autumn/winter 2011-12 shows. Beginning in New York, on the Marc Jacobs catwalk, models slinked down runways for designers including Louis Vuitton and Giles in racy looks that were saucy enough to make us blush.
Inspired by The Night Porter, this look is not for the faint-hearted wearer (or spectator) - with latex, PVC and leather playing a starring role in the trend. Save the bondage bindings and lace-up corsetry for your naughtier costume parties and embrace the subtler side of this trend with suggestive sheer inserts, leather panels and black lace.
And, if you're going to vamp it up in leather, rubber or PVC, make sure it's oil-slick shiny and only ever in black.
The good news with regards to this trend is that it’s very wearable! You don’t need to dress head to toe in rubber to channel the look; it translates from the runways and can be diluted to achieve a bondage inspired but subtly provocative look. The fetish trend on the catwalks may be anything but subtle, but for a ‘modern wearable fetish’, think wide, leather corset belts and high necklines.
Boost your sex appeal with drawing inspiration from the fetish wear fashion trend for the 2011 season. If you’re not all into minimalistic styles or luxurious details, turn your attention towards some skin revealing outfits that are sure to grab all the attention
This season the fashion trends vary widely and now a little bit of skin showing or revealing the feminine forms with body hugging outfits is not forbidden. Underline your kinky side with leather bondage strips, transparent chiffon, patent leather, visible thigh high socks, transparent blouses, as they can really make an impact.
This fashion trend is definitely not for the fainthearted, so make sure you’re ready to face a lot of attention when sporting an edgy chic outfit. With a little bit of a kink, yet not trashy, the outfits are a perfect match for confident women who feel uber-comfortable in their own skin. The skin hugging, revealing fabrics underline the feminine forms of the body, so opt for the outfits that do your body justice.
A sexy outfit doesn’t necessarily have to reveal plenty of skin, straps that underline the body and dresses that mould around the body can too look super sexy, so dare to be bold and try on a sexy outfit that still enables you to feel relaxed.
Dark colors, straps, transparent fabrics, high heels and patent leather are definitely a must have if you’re up to the challenge of going bold and letting your inhibitions go. Opt for dark hues such as black, dark blue or grey, but you can also opt for electric blue, red or nudes as they are all seductive colors. Pay attention to details so you can end-up with a lovely sexy, yet not trashy outfit that will make you a sensation at any event!
As terrifying as this trend might appear to the uninitiated, it's actually pretty simple to rock. Everyone from Jennifer Aniston to Daisy Lowe has been snapped in a leather dress in recent months. You won't know what you did without it. Honest. Other key elements include a leather trench and some over-the-knee boots. Whip and dog collar optional.
